From 1958-60, The Texan was a highly acclaimed TV western. Starring Rory Calhoun, the show was the first true western to be produced by Desilu Studios. The year before they had started the Sheriff of Cochise (later renamed US Marshall), which had a western theme but was staged in modern times. By the way, Sheriff of Cochise and U S Marshall can also be seen on TVS Western.Com.
TVS Western.Com, by the way, is the "Western Channel" for TV4U.Com, the 48 channel IPTV network.
